What’s new in driver education in 2021?

Well, wasn’t 2020 a year to remember!

The global COVID-19 emergency impacted us all and changed how we lived and worked. I consider myself one of the lucky ones – none of my family were made seriously ill or died due to coronavirus. Phew.

Due to the pandemic, I was forced to park my car and work from home much of the year. The silver lining was that I had time to reflect on my progress towards my driving purpose of making the world’s roads safer for everyone.

As I surfed the internet more than I steered my Tesla, I was reminded of the value of the web and online learning. A third of the way through 2020, I came to the realisation that I could no longer use the excuse of a lack of time for not leveraging tech’ in the pursuit of my road safety mission.

After much rumination, Bespoke Driver Training – my two-decade-old driver training business – morphed into the idea of a specialised college that would leverage technology in a blended approach to driving education. And The Driving College was born at the end of the year.

My team and I are now planning for better times ahead. Pandemic permitting, through 2021 The Driving College will develop an online prospectus outlining a wide range of on-road and online courses for people and organisations to further skill, knowledge, understanding, and enjoyment of safe motoring.

I hope you will leverage our courses to achieve your driving ambitions in 2021.
